Everyone talks about how the publishing industry is changing — and it is. Today, I am thinking about the flow of money, particularly where it flows, to whom, and in what order. Most professional novelists have an agent who is part of that flow.

Under the original model, agents handle all aspects of the business and financial side of things. It is written into the contract that 100% of all money earned from  the sale of a book will go directly to the agent. So, all advance and royalty checks are received by the agent, who then cashes these checks, keeps 15%, and sends the novelist his/her 85%.

Jennifer Gardner wins the second of three signed hardbound first editions of S3B2: The Dog in the Dark.

Jennifer’s prize will be in the mail by tomorrow and on its way to her doorstep. This concludes the third of the current series of six raffles for signed volumes from the Noble Dead Saga.

The current raffle for a signed hardbound first edition of S3B2: The Dog in the Dark ended as of midnight last night. Hopefully all of you got your entry in before the deadline.

The winner selected via use of Random.org has been notified via email and has 48 hours to respond with verification of shipping address. If no response is received, a new winner is selected and verification repeats. Come Monday we should have either a winner to announce or notification of a redraw process.

After that, we will let all of you know when the next raffle will begin and what the prize will be. In this six raffle series, there will be three signed hardbound first editions of S3B2: The Dog in the Dark interspersed with other prizes. And yes, you may enter each raffle regardless of winning a previous prize.
